100 years of poster collection

More than one hundred years ago, the City of Vienna decided to systematically collect posters. Today, the poster collection of the Vienna Library in Town Hall is one of the largest in the world, with more than 400,000 items. This publication provides insights into the history of collecting and preservation, with impressive examples from the fields of politics, product and culture posters illustrating the broad spectrum of the Vienna Library’s collection and visualising a century of poster history.

The publication marked the 100th anniversary of the poster collection.
